Fall Renew and Cleanse - Tuesday Sept 8th 2020

Standard Process 21 Day Purification-Prep Today - Tomorrow we BEGIN!

More often than not we think of the New Year as the start to a New You! But for me I can say, honestly, the "going back to school" time of year feels like a good time to get back to normal routines! Whatever that may mean this year! A time to throw away the junk food that crept in over the summer with the kids being out of school, summertime, and getting away, quarantining and all! And we ditch the white stuff! Sugar, flour, grains, alcohol and yes, even caffeine! Just for 3 weeks! But hopefully for many of these - we can shift into a 90/10 lifestyle! 90% of the time we are eating real wholesome foods that provide needed nutrients for our bodies and 10% of the time...well...you know! ;) This fall we decided to begin the day after Labor Day. This time around we were out of town all weekend so I have been prepping today! Usually I recommend beginning the prep process 2 days prior, but for me...I will play catch up today!

I do try to buy organic when I can in everything but if you can't do that there is a list of "the dirty dozen" which lists in order of pesticide residue. Just search "Dirty Dozen 2020" as this lists changes each year.

My first step is to grocery shop!

Here was my haul for today. FYI-most of the spices, herbs and all of the vinegars and oils I already had...

The second step (if you are able) is to rid you house of the bad stuff. The sugar, white flour, processed foods etc. Sometimes we can't do this as we have other family members in the house, like a 16 year old! LOL The less of the things that you are tempted by that actually remain in your house the more successful you will be!

Here is some of my day 1 prepping!

Homemade vegetable broth! Love this! And so easy! I just throw any vegetables into this stock pot, but especially those that are a little too ripe for me to want to eat on a salad. I cut them up, skin, roots and all, just toss them in. Lots of onions and garlic! Then I will add all sorts of spices and herbs. Cover with water and let simmer for 4-6 hours. Then strain off all the veggies, put the broth into quart jars and refrigerate for up to 6 days. If you have chickens the left over veggies are great for them! We used to have chickens and loved feeding them these kinds of scraps.

For those of you who do not own a "Spiralizer" I absolutely recommend! I will include a link to purchase. Cheap and oh so EASY!! Below I just used a zucchini and a yellow squash. Then I will bag them up to keep in the fridge. Usually good for 4-5 days. I will make a marinara sauce with portabella mushrooms with the zucchini and maybe mix the squash in with it or cook it all my itself with some coconut oil or organic butter! YUM!

Quinoa and lentils are allowed in moderation on the program. I like to cook some up ahead of time and just toss the quinoa in a zip lock bag so it is ready to go. Lentils go in my 2 cup glass jar so they're ready to go to add to salads, or any cooked dish for some added protein. Both of these will add more protein for those who feel like you need more I would add more of these first. We also have a SP Veg-E Pro Complete for additional protein we can add to our smoothies on top of the SP Complete if need be.

I also like to have this "sunflower butter" on hand: Because sunflower seeds are allowed, if I am feeling a little tired I will have a tablespoon of this. I get this at Thrive Market. Thrive is an online membership site however, with this link you can join for free for 30 days, then cancel if you don't like it. But this link will get you 25% off your first order. And your first order as long as it is minimum of $25 you get free shipping! Thrive is cheaper than the local stores and most of the time, even Amazon. The actual membership is $59.99/year but I easily save that. And when I discuss "super foods" you will see why!

SUPPORT!

Be sure to surround yourself with people/friends who are supporting you in this venture. Someone you can talk to about what you are doing makes the journey just a little easier. This is the reason I have created the 21 Day Purification Program Facebook Group! If you are not in the private group pease let me know and I will add you! Here is a link.

OK! I think that is about enough for day 1 prepping! Good luck to my fellow purification health warriors! I will check in during day 1!!
